Order and Chaos Online Game Info

Order and Chaos Online is a fantasy MMORPG video game developed by Gameloft for iOS and Android devices. The game was released for iOS on April 27, 2011. The game has been noted several times for being one of the best playable fully 3D MMORPG on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Haradon (Realm of Order & Chaos Online) was forged on the Anvil of Khalin, God of Order, to prove to Kolki, Lord of Chaos, that order governs all things. During the First Dawn, the great races stepped out into the world. Scattered campfires began to illuminate the night as Men emerged from caves, Elves journeyed out of the woods, and Daisauros crawled forth from the swamps. These races developed languages, built cities. Khalin was pleased. But then, driven by greed, the races clashed violently.

With aberrant magic, the Daisauros conjured means to animate the dead. Through vile and twisted experimentation, the Elves created the race of Orcs. Soon, even these creatures were rebelling against their creators in a bid for power. Kolki was pleased. Khalin, furious, threw his Great Hammer down from the heavens. The impact shatterd the land and destroyed the barrier between this world and the world of deamons.

The game is played from either a 1st Person or 3rd Person viewing perspective. The player can edit His/Her view distance and/or perspective using the Pinch and Zoom feature. Movement is controlled using a virtual joystick that is located in the lower left of the screen. Combat and interface controls are mapped to virtual buttons which can be activated by touching them. Players can complete quests and fight monsters in order to level up to a maximum of level 60, which awards talent points after level 5 for a talent tree which provides active and passive skills. Leveling a character allows players to use better weapons and armor. Special abilities can be mapped to buttons on the screen, and can be activated by tapping them when the player has enough morale, mana or vigor depending on the character's class.

Factions

The game has two playable factions;
Order: This faction is viewed as the Good for the world in Order & Chaos Online. If a player creates a character for the Order, Either Humans or Elf, He/She will begin in the Arcadian Forest
Chaos: This faction is viewed as the Evil for the world in Order & Chaos Online. If a player creates a character for the Chaos, Either Orc or Undead, He/She will begin in the Tanned Land.

Races of Order

Human: Race Description - Humans always look to the horizon. They chase power and want to change the world, whether for good or for ill. Their settlements are among the brightest lights in a dark and untamed world. Humans constantly seek to explore new lands.
Elf: Race Description - An ancient race with strong ties to the forest, Elves have a detached view of the world. They often have difficulty believing that events in the world have much importance to them, for they consider consequences in terms of centuries.

Races of Chaos

Orc: Race Description - Orcs love close combat and plunge furiously into the thick of battle, giving no thought to retreat or surrender. People think they are savage, bloodthirsty marauders, but pride and hero worship course deep in the blood beneath their green skin.
Undead: Race Description - The Undead have journeyed to the end of night. Some have found wisdom, and others only sorrow. A selfish and cunning race, they have all the time in the world to pursue their dreams... Until they become nightmares.

Order & Chaos Online Game Mechanics

Order & Chaos is an huge game with a multitude of elements making it up. This site is attempting to make those elements easier to understand and therefore more fun. We are experimenting with the layout so be sure to hunt around a little bit if you are having trouble finding what you are looking for. It is probably here somewhere.
  1. PVP

    PVP Zones

There are PvP zones in higher level areas of Order and Chaos online. Entering a PvP zone applies a flag on you that allows other players to attack you. Once you leave a PVP zone you lose that flag after just a couple of minutes. You can find out the remaining time on your PvP flag by touching the status effect icon next to your character portrait. If a player appears as red to you it means that they are currently able to be attacked.
The first PVP zone you encounter is the Swamp of Wyrms at about level 22+

    PVP Arenas

Arenas are planned for the game in the near future. You can find entrances to the arena in the city of Greenmont that say to check back soon. Expect arenas in one of the first content patches, which typically come after a few bugfix patches.
  2. Vanity Pets

Vanity Pets are in game pets that follow you around as you go about your travels. Currently vanity pets only provide an aestetic benefit and provide no help to the player. It is interesting that they do have there own health bar and level so perhaps in the future this may change.
They can be bought for gold from a pet seller in Greenmont right by the Auction House. In exchange for runes (bought through in app purchase) you can purchase Vanity pets from Ubiquitous Nick who is located in various main towns are the world. Lastly you can acquire certain vanity pets off of monsters (for example, all wolves have a slight chance of dropping a ’Young Wolf’)
  3. Ubiquitous Nick

This strange little fellow can be seen throughout the world in most medium to large sized towns. Everything Nick sells is bought with Rune Stones (5 for $.99, 30 for $4.99, 95 for $14.99, 320 for $49.99, and 650 for $99.99).
Currently he offers series of hour long buffs as well as rune only Vanity Pets. These pets are all listed on the image below.
  4. Auction House

  5. Guilds

The guild system in order of chaos is fairly rudementary at the moment. Currently they act as a large chat room and to have the name of that guild under your name as your travel around the game world. That being said it is a very useful way of having a large social network in the game to find partners to level with…or call to help you when you’ve been getting killed for hours by some jerk who thinks its fun to prey on low level characters just trying to level. Your guild list can be found on the second tab of the social section of your characters’ game menu.

    Guild Features

    • Tag Below your name that can be turned off in the options menu.
    • A guild chat channel that acts just like the Global or Local channel, but if green and should be less annoying if you picked the right guild. This channel can be shut off like all the others by pressing and holding on the green guild channel icon for three seconds.
    • The guild member list is found under the social option in the second tab. Much like a pre populated friends list.
    • Guild Ranks can be assigned to players although currently there is no use for this system beyond the social bragging rights.
  6. Teleporation

Due to the massive size of the Order & Chaos world, foot transportation can be extremely difficult and tedious. Instead of going with flying mounts like in WoW, Gameloft decided to use a teleportation system.

    Teleport Masters

Teleport Masters can teleport you anywhere you want, for a small service fee. They are usually located in towns and hotspots and are very useful for long distance travel. Just about every single friendly town has a teleport person. They usually are just a little bit out of the town area so sometimes you have to search a little bit.

    Teleportation Runes

The easiest way (and also the most costly way) to get around the map is using Teleportation Runes. These runes can be purchased from the teleport merchant in Greenmont. But such ease comes with a large price-tag; many new players may find that the runes are too costly. It should be noted that these runes are one-use only. You can also buy runes for individual towns from certain provision merchants (with the bread icon). You must be in the town (silence and bellshoal for example) and can only buy the rune for returning to that town. They are usually located on the last page of their wares and goods.

Order & Chaos Online Dungeons

Dungeons are instanced zones where Order & Chaos players team up to battle there way past elite monsters and bosses for much better rewards than can be found in the main single player game world.

There are Normal and Legend modes.

For Normal mode is required to be at least level 20. You can play this mode as much as you want to.

For the Legend mode you must be level 60. You will usually need four well-equipped, skilled players in your team. There’s a one hundred tick exhaustion per day, therefore use your time with wisdom. From Ubiquitous Nick you may purchase token and with him you may reset your exhaustion (Energy Tablet).

In the Order & Chaos Online are Four Dungeons:

    Relic’s Key (Swamp of Wyrms):
The Required Level: Normal (lvl 35+), Legend (lvl 60)
    Knahswahs Prison (Tear Coast)
The Required Level: Normal (lvl 20+), Legend (lvl 60)
    Eristars’ Temple (The Whispering Islands)

Sailen: The Lower City (Gate of Sailen, The Great Desert)

Sailen: The Palace (Gate of Sailen, The Great Desert)
The Required Level: Normal (lvl 45+), Legend (Level 60)

Order & Chaos Online Regions

Arcadian Forest

(Levels 1-12)

The Arcadian Forest is the region players begin the game. It’s a large area of 9 towns, castles and camps. In between the towns you can find monsters of varying levels. Generally the further east you are the lower the level. To the north is of the zone is the entrance to the major city Greenmont.

Areas

Fallen Leaf - Starting town for the Order. This is the quest hub until about level 5. There is a teleporter that brings you to Roar Military School in the Tanned Land, which is the equivalent Chaos starting area. This lets players level up in the other factions starting zone quickly. This is especially good if you are leveling a second character.
Silence - First large quest hub for Order players. This town is also where you get the quest that leads to crafting skills. Most people will spend levels 4 – 8 here.
Greenmont - Is the largest city in the came thus far and hosts a number of interesting places . The most notable being the Auction House

Tear Coast (Levels 12 – 20)

Tear Coast is a region east of the Arcadian Forest. It is home to 8 areas and can be accessed by teleportation or walking east through Windmill Farm. Traveling there before level 10 is ill advised.

Tanned Land

(Levels 1-12)

The Tanned Land is the starting zone for the Chaos faction. Much the same as the Arcadian Forest zone is for the Order.

Swamp of Wyrms

Swamp of Wyrms is the region north of Tear Coast. It is generally the third zone that players will visit from the levels of 20 – 30. It is accessible from Teleport Master from Bellshoul to Old Oak Mine to Bordhill. Swamp of Wyrms is notable as being the first place to feature zone wide PVP.

The Whispering Islands

The Great Desert

Sinskaald Rift

The Edge Lands

The Edge Lands are an unofficial zone the can only be reached by climbing over the edge of the official game area. This is much like the early days of World of Warcraft where people could gain access to areas outside of where the developers intended. Currently it is mostly jusst for exploration, but can be used as a means of fast travel because the ground is so flat. More information to come soon.

Order & Chaos online Locations

Regions

Order & Chaos online takes place in the fantasy world of Haradon. The world is broken up into 7 regions. As a player progresses through levels they will make their way questing through these regions.

Dungeons

Dungeons are instanced zones where Order & Chaos players team up to battle there way past elite monsters and bosses for much better rewards than can be found in the main single player game world.

Areas

Areas are smaller sections of the main regions that contain quest hubs, vendors, towns, or notable monster areas. Most of the time you will have multiple quests at one time that send you to one of these sections.

Cities

Cities are areas within Regions that contain multiple vendors, mailboxes, quest hubs, and storage bins. You can find more information on the region specific page where the town or city is located with the exception of Greenmont, which acts as its own Region

Order & Chaos Online Classes

There are currently four classes in Order & Chaos Online that each have strengths and weaknesses. Generally the classes are exactly what you would expect from any other MMO. Warriors are good at close combat and defense and use the heaviest armor, while rangers focus on long-range weapons and a lesser amount of in your face fighting. Mages can cast powerful offensive spells, while monks can heal with their spells. The rangers are the equivalent to a hunter/rogue combo without pets and the monks are much the same as priests with fists if making the comparison to World of Warcraft.
There are currently four classes in the Heroes of Chaos & Order:
  • Guardian
  • Supporter
  • Fighter
  • Mage

Click on the class to go to a more detailed page for each.
  • Warrior – The warrior class is your basic melee based fighter. They may specialize in either offensive two hand friendly damage, or a sword and board (shield) protection based skill tree. They can wear any kind of armor and are usually great blacksmiths. They are the most straight forward of the classes to understand if you are new to the RPG genre.
Combat Type Close Combat Melee
Usable Armor Cloth, Leather, Metal
Best Trade Skill Blacksmith
Specs Battle and Guardian
  • Monk – The monk is a hybrid character in that it casts spells that are focused on healing and buffing, but does melee damage with his fists. Imagine a buddhist monk combined with a boxing ninja. The monk is somewhere between a Paladin from other MMO’s (*cough* Warcraft) and a Priest. If you feel good and love aiding your fellow players then this is the class for you.
Combat Type Ranged Direct Damage and Crowd Control
Usable Armor Cloth Only
Best Trade Skill Tailoring
Specs Divine and Military Monk
  • Ranger – Rangers specializes is doing heavy distance damage with bows, but can also specialize in a close quarters assassination role. If you are a fun of bows or back-stabs then this is the class for you.
Combat Type Ranged Bows and Stealthy Close Combat
Usable Armor Cloth and Leather
Best Trade Skill Leatherworking
Specs Archery or Assassination
  • Mage – Just like in WoW, the Mage is a damage focused ranged based spell caster. Often dubbed the glass cannon. As a Mage you can choose between fire skills that are focused on doing direct mostly single target damage, and frost skills that include more crowd control. Just like in World of Warcraft, the Mage can only wear cloth and therefore Tailoring is the natural skill to take up. Basically if you love the Pew Pew (doing damage) and don’t mind being brittle (dieing a lot) then this is a great class.
Combat Type Ranged Direct Damage and Crowd Control
    Usable Armor Cloth Only
    Best Trade Skill Tailoring
    Specs Fire and Frost
This is only the beginning of the class coverage. Expect a lot more in coming days.
